Tragedy Strikes: The Loss of Dr. Jamal Zayid

On January 29th, the African Experts community was hit by the heartbreaking news of the passing of Dr. Jamal Zayid, a founding member of the consortium of African Experts, in Nairobi, Kenya. A renowned economist, Dr. Zayid dedicated his life to advancing economic and business development in Africa. The sudden loss of such a distinguished and brilliant mind was a shock to the African expert community and those who knew him, leaving behind a legacy of excellence in the field of economics.

The funeral of Dr. Zayid was attended by many members of the African Experts community, who came together to pay their respects to a man who had made a substantial impact on the continent. The body of Dr. Zayid was returned to Khartoum on Tuesday, January 31st, where a burial ceremony and prayers took place at ‘Al Sahafa Cemetery’.

The loss of Dr. Zayid has left a void in the African Experts community, as well as in the hearts of those who knew him. Our deepest sympathies go out to his family, loved ones, and the people of Sudan, particularly in Ad-Damazin, Blue Nile State. It is hoped that his legacy will continue to inspire and drive positive change in Africa for generations to come.
