Bio:

Mr. Khalid Bettaieb has a considerable amount of experience and expertise in the field of means of payment and digital finance, being a legal and technical expertise in this area. In addition, a national consultant to UNCTAD and UNCTAD for the study “Preparing Tunisia for e-commerce”. A partner of PwC working on behalf of GIZ and BCT as Head of Mission on a Study on the prerequisites for the development and growth of digital finance and Payment Institutions in Tunisia. And worked as a partner of PwC working on behalf of the World Bank and the Ministry of Finance for the mission “Support program for improving access to financing by VSEs/SMEs (MSME 2.0)”

• Design, management, and assistance in the implementation of projects within the framework of the National Decashing Strategy and the development of electronic payments in collaboration with billers and structures under several Ministries (Finance, Education, Social Affairs, Equipment, Industry, etc.).
• Member of several National and Regional Commissions (Maghreb) having actively contributed to:
  • The dematerialization of means of payment and the implementation of the tele compensation system.
  • The implementation of a strategy for the promotion of financial inclusion through digital finance (under the aegis of the World Bank: CGAP).
  • Development of the national strategy for mobile financial transactions (under the aegis of the Ministry of Technologies).
  • The definition of a plan for the development of Tunisian tourism through the web: e-tourism (under the aegis of the Ministry of Tourism).
• Member of the Steering Committee having worked on the digitalization of the distribution of social aid and the launch of the digital portfolio as part of the management of the crisis linked to Covid-19.
